Mission Statement
SharkBay is an indoor playspace that feeds all imaginative young minds up to 6 years old. This clean and captivating environment provides a safe place for families to play, learn, and create new memories. Pass by our life size coral reef display made from recycled materials to enjoy fresh coffee and tea, and marvel in this new world of fun!
About the Owner
If we have yet to meet, my name is Jess, I'm the owner!👋 I'm from NYC, moved here to study marine bio as I have a fascination for sharks and had wanted to study whaleshark migrations patterns. I've done some pretty cool shark tagging internships when I was in college where met my husband Luke. Turns out life on the sea wasn't for me🤢 Fast forward 6 years I decided to stay home when we had Noah during covid and we were anxious to take him anywhere because he'd get sick for over a week and has febrile seizures. Reevaluating my lifelong passions of crafting, planning kids events/parties and not so secret love of cleaning up toys decided to open SharkBay Playspace! The idea of SharkBay checked off all my boxes and was my happy medium between keeping noah safe in an environment thats cleaner than my home and that lets him (and I) socialize while getting to do something I'm passionate about! When we opened, Noah would barely make eye contact with anyone now he has more friends than me lol and we're blessed to say he hasn't had a seizure since we've opened. I have extremely high expectations for myself thus SharkBay and I am just so proud of what we have been able to accomplish and what new SharkBay has to offer! I am thankful for what SharkBay has done for my family and I hope it has an even greater impact on yours. If you've visited us/ seen our parties you can probably tell that I LOVE planning kids events! I love their giggles and seeing their little smiles light up in amazement!
That's why I love SharkBay BUT my son Noah is the reason it exists. I kept him indoors pretty much the 1st year of his life because anytime we took him out he got sick for 10 days and is at risk of febrile seizures. SharkBay is my happy medium between exposing him to germs, letting him socialize with other kids but on my terms in a space that's as clean as my house (actually cleaner lol) he's with me half of the week at SharkBay and I’m thankful to say he hasn’t had a seizure since we opened our doors. He’s gone from observing 10ft away to now our personal greeter!
I'm so thankful for what SharkBay has done for our family and I hope it has the same impact on yours!
